Museu Afro Brasil

Museu Afro Brasil is a history, artistic, and ethnographic museum in Ibirapuera Park, São Paulo, dedicated to the cultural sphere of black people in Brazil. The collection covers religion, labor, art, the African diaspora, and slavery, showing African influences on Brazilian society.

A bit of history

The museum was established in 2004 by Emanoel Araújo, an artist from Bahia and former director of the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo. Araújo has been the museum's director since its founding.
